Zach Charges Through the Field at "The Hangover"!

The team went to 411 Motor Speedway yesterday to compete in The Hangover ($4,000 to win) with the Schaeffer's Iron Man Late Models. 29 drivers were competing to make it into the 22-car field for the feature. We brought our blue/gray Rocket ("Rocky") with our 525 motor. Unfortunately track conditions were not in our favor. The track was wide open -- really fast. We really could have used our big motor for this one. We didn't qualify that well and had to run a heat race and finish in the top 4 to transfer into the feature. On the initial start of the heat, a car on the row in front of Zach spun resulting in cars scattering and Zach ending up facing the wrong way on the track with some damage to the right front/hood. He was able to continue and gave it his best effort but finished P5. We thought our day was over but were informed we could take a provisional which we did. Michael Leonhardi and Zach went to work on the repairs prior to the 40- lap feature. Zach started in the rear of the field (22nd). As soon as the green flag dropped Zach started his march through the field. By lap 9 he was up to P13. He was shuffled back a few spots on a restart but worked his way back up to P14. On the last few laps Zach was sailing on the high side running down the drivers in front of him but ran out of laps. He finished in P14. The car's handling was awesome during the race. Zach was able to drive the bottom and the top and race side-by-side throughout the entire race. Zach was awarded with the $100 bonus for being the top finisher in a 525. We have to give a shoutout to Kenny Harris for letting us borrow a rivet gun to make repairs. Also we have to thank all of our marketing partners for their support. AND -- Couldn't believe the number of fans who were there in the cold conditions to watch the races -- you guys ROCK! 411 & CT Promotions ran a great program and there was some great racing action all day long in all divisions. Congrats to Donald Mcintosh on his win!
