ZACH CHARGES THROUGH THE FIELD FOR ANOTHER TOP TEN AT SENOIA!

Zach returned to Senoia Raceway last Saturday night for Race #2 in the Fall Brawl series. This week nineteen drivers were entered in the Super Late Model division. The track was holding more moisture than usual which resulted in a very fast racing surface. In fact, a new track record was set in the Super division -- 12.92 in qualifying by Jason Croft. Zach's car was very fast as well, however, during qualifying he experienced a parts failure in the right frontend of the car. This affected the car's handling making it difficult for the car to turn left. He qualified 14th but Zach remained hopeful that he would be able to race through the field. The pit crew went to work on making repairs prior to the feature. Read more

ZACH BRINGS HOME TOP 10 IN FALL BRAWL OPENER AT SENOIA

Last Saturday night at Senoia Raceway started off great for Zach. He qualified 5th out of 18 Super drivers. On lap 5 there was a caution for a car slowing down on the front stretch. The cars were lined back up for the restart. Zach had a great restart and was moving fast on the outside lane of the backstretch. As he went to enter turn 3, contact was made with another car and Zach spun out. Several other cars spun to avoid other cars. Zach was able to continue on in the race but would have to restart 16th. ZACH COMPETES AT ALABAMA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

This past weekend the team went to East Alabama Motor Speedway to compete in the 38th Annual Alabama State Championship Races. This was a 4-day event for Zach so he got a lot of seat time. Thursday and Friday was practice for Zach's division. On Saturday and Sunday Zach competed with The Southern All Stars Late Model Series. Each race was $4,000 to win. On Saturday, there were 31 Super Late Models attempting to make the 24-car field. The drivers were divided into two groups to qualify. The top five from each group would be locked into the A Main. Zach qualified 10th in his group and would have to race in a 10-lap B Main. Read more

ZACH SCORES ANOTHER TOP 5 AT SENOIA!

Saturday night turned out to be a great night for our team at Senoia Raceway. Sixteen drivers were on hand to compete in the Super Late Model Division. Zach did well in qualifying securing a 6th place starting position in the feature. The Supers were the final division to race and the track conditions had changed since qualifying. During qualifying the track had grip and was "hammer down" fast. As the night went on the track began to slick up and lap times slowed down. The Supers went out on the track for their feature and were given a few hot laps to feel out the track. The green flag flew and once again there were no cautions. Zach adapted well to the track conditions and brought home 5th place! Read more

ZACH FINISHES 4TH IN TRACK POINTS AT SENOIA IN 2016

This past Saturday night was the final points race for the 2016 season at Senoia Raceway. Unfortunately Zach didn't qualify well -- he was 12th out of 15 cars. He raced hard during the caution-free 25 laps but was only able to get up to 10th before the checkered flag flew. Zach explains, "We made an adjustment to the car prior to the feature. With about 5 laps to go the car started coming to me and I was running down the pack in front of me. I feel I could have advanced a few more positions if we could have had a few more laps. Read more

ZACH FINISHES 12TH AT EAMS DEBUT

This past Saturday the team headed to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL for the first time. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series was making a stop at the track with $4,000 on the line to win. This track was built in 1973 and is a fast 4/10 mile track with no outside walls except for the front stretch. The track had just recently added new clay but what made the track especially challenging was that the clay was different on each end. In turns 1 & 2 it was more like the original dirt but in 3 & 4 there was a type of clay that was more like gumbo. This proved to be very challenging to the drivers as they would have to drive turns 1 & 2 using a different technique than in turns 3 & 4. Read more

ZACH BRINGS HOME 9TH PLACE AT SENOIA

Zach's car was looking sharp and he was ready to get back on the track Saturday at Senoia. However, in hot laps Zach struggled with the handling and he didn't qualify well. He started 8th in the feature but wasn't able to gain much ground in the caution-free race. He ended up with a 9th place finish. After the race it appeared that a shock may have been going bad which could have affected the car's handling. Read more

SENOIA ULTIMATE SUPER SERIES RESULTS

This past Saturday the Ultimate Super Late Model Series came to Senoia Raceway. Twenty-seven drivers were on hand to battle for a spot in the 24-car field. It was a tough field of experienced drivers. The top ten drivers in qualifying would be locked into the show and the remaining would have to race in consi races with only a limited number transferring to the main. Shortly after all of the supers completed hot laps there was a brief rain shower. Once the rain ended, the track crew went to work to get the track back in shape for the remaining divisions to run hot laps and qualifying. Zach qualified 15th, only two tenths away from the 10th place qualifying position that would have locked him into the feature. Read more

ZACH BRINGS HOME ANOTHER TOP 5 FINISH AT SENOIA

Last week the team raced at two different tracks. On Tuesday we were at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, GA. It was a Southern Nationals Serie's race and it attracted 35 super late model drivers to compete. There were only 22 spots available in the feature and two of those were provisionals so we knew it would be a challenge to make the race. NASCAR driver, Ty Dillon, was at the track to race and Zach was only a tenth off of Ty's qualifying time. The competition at big races like this one is so tough that every hundredth counts when you qualify. Zach didn't qualify as well as he would have liked and had to race in one of four consi races. The top three finishers from each of the consi races would transfer to the feature and the rest would be eliminated for the night. Zach started 5th in his consi. On the start of the race Zach made an aggressive move and made it three-wide down the backstretch for 2nd place. Contact from another driver caused Zach to lose momentum and he fell back several spots. He ended up coming up short and didn't make the feature. Zach may have come up short this time but he still gained alot of experience racing at a different track with different drivers which is what he needs to help him get better. He also looked much more comfortable in the car than the previous time he was at Boyd's to compete. Read more

ZACH RACES THROUGH THE FIELD TO A TOP TEN FINISH AT SENOIA!

This past Saturday night at Senoia Raceway, Zach was hoping to have better qualifying results. Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance to attempt to qualify. During hot laps, an axle shaft broke in the right rear of the car. Disappointingly, the repairs were not able to get completed by qualifying. Zach was stuck watching qualifying as a spectator this week. However, the repairs were completed by the feature but Zach would have to start last (13th). Zach was disappointed but didn't let it bring him down. He was relieved he would not be missing the feature. When the green flag dropped, Zach quickly went to work passing cars. He tried different lines but his car seemed to work the best hugging the bottom in the turns. He had worked his way up to 7th and was racing for P6 as the laps were counting down. He finished in P7, however, he and the driver in P6 almost caught the pack of drivers running in P3-P5. Read more
